Reading Counts

Happy New Year! Just a reminder, Please send your child's library book back everyday. Encourage your child to read independently. After reading, ask your child questions to monitor their comprehension and retelling skills. I have included suggested questions and strategies on the back of the weekly homework. It is strictly optional if you want your child to write about their retelling. It would make the difference but it is not necessary. Encourage your child to talk about the main characters, setting, and the plot. I will share student samples soon.
